- Logo Refinements and type explorations on Miro
- Thoughts on original type
- when gathering research, original felt spooky/scary, different from the theme of the brand
- felt sharp
- want a type that feels more elegant and modern, that better pairs and doesn’t compete with the type
- Who participated this week
- some people wrote stuff down
- mood board
- written treatment
- What the team liked the most
- The original type for the headers FH10
- Explore different options for the body copy
- Modular but still has some character
- simple and still elegant
- separate from last years
- Still important but not overbearing
- work with the glitch
- make it more modern for the body copy
- All references and favorite type is on the Miro board, sticky notes and favorite icons indicate what the design team prefers
- Example of the grid for the design style
- Wildy’s exploration
- Gage is Drawn to the night serif option
- ask to pair the logo with the type study
- The gold star option
- the OGG light serif fits with the logo a lot better.
- graphic design students loved the type option in this one but would change the glyphs,
- the slant feels a little different
- Logo Refinement
- is beautiful and experimental
- however, it’s very much it’s own entity and separate from any type that the team could find
- Keep playing with serifs or go for something more modern?
- Yao is worried about changing the fonts for what is current
- we can change fonts, its just the logo that’s final
- Fixes of the font are in the Miro board
- Idea for 2 directions
- create one that coincides more with the logo
- create a type study that is more modern
- good idea to have type that can work in motion, having a good moving piece
- Brooke’s ideas
- having something simple and modern will elevate
- a serif will take away from the complexities and beauty of the style frames
- did like Yao’s logo explorations
- separate from the video but still makes sense
- could explore type that is similar to that
- Rivai
- satisfied with the primary font
- in a good direction
- problem is with the secondary typography
- have it done in a modern way
- explore and decide which direction to go towards
- If we want to explore the modern way, “we have to put it together to see how it goes”
- i.e. with the title cards
- Likes the OGG light serif - black background
- Brooke - “all things are interchangeable depending on where things need to go… what looks best where”
- For title cards for Gage and Brooke
- To do
- a more modern typeface paired with the chapter cards
- serif typeface with the chapter cards
- compare and post on the miro board for creative director approval
- The other thing to consider is the glitching effect with the frames
- Want to remember to have something simple and elegant
- Some people on the graphic design team have done some layouts, experimenting and making a very simplified design language that is not overzealous and not take away from anything
- For the title cards - follow the grid system from the style frames but the graphic design team can have their own approach as well
- We all have similar ideas - for the title card starting with playing types is good
- Logo refinement
- everything is tidied up line-wise
- show some logo variations with minor alterations
- There is the final one with the vector and point clean-ups
- Changing alignment of the year- everything falls center
