Acknowledgments

This book is dedicated to the companies who very generously donated their expertise, and knowledge to share with our students. CoMotion would not exist without the industry professionals who lend their insight and time to the event. We would also like to thank the branding team and students who devoted their passion, energy, and time to planning and organizing this amazing event. Your commitment to both your craft and passion to grow is truly remarkable and made the convention unforgettable. Thank you to the motion media faculty and professors who sacrificed countless hours in critiquing and reviewing work. We truly appreciate all of your guidance both logistically and mentally. Without your mentorship, we would not have the skills to create such an impactful and vibrant event. Finally, we’d like to thank MOMELove presidents Fatima Sultan and Andrew Ordieres as well as all the MOMELove officers. Without your unconditional support and belief in the branding team, this event would not have been possible. Thank you so much for this incredible opportunity!

Animation

The animation team’s primary goal was to elevate and pay tribute to the remarkable designs created by the graphic and design teams. For the showcase cards, we embraced simplicity and airiness, allowing the viewers the space to fully absorb their beauty. Our most intricate and hands-on task was the title sequence, where we challenged ourselves to enhance and refine the designs entrusted to us. We strove for a result that was both beautiful and harmonious. Throughout the process, we remained mindful of keeping the animation fluid and graceful, avoiding abrupt movements to preserve the elegance of the designs. Our final contribution—compositing everything together—was the moment we saw our collective vision come to life in its fullest form.

Design

The CoMotion 2025 design team focused on crafting a cohesive animation-driven identity, emphasizing growth, transformation, and light. From concept to execution, we developed a branding system that seamlessly integrated motion elements, ensuring a fluid connection between design and animation. A key focus was the title sequence, where we worked collectively to refine its visual language, pacing, and transitions. By experimenting with color, typography, and composition, we created a unified aesthetic that enhanced the storytelling. Through collaboration, we shaped an identity that elevated CoMotion 2025’s visual experience and reinforced its theme in every frame.

Graphic Design

Symmetry and color played major roles in the creation of all graphic design elements for this year’s branding package. By combining simple and elegant typography with vibrant gradients the team constructed a cohesive printed package. In addition to creating elements like postcards, and thank you notes the team also grappled with the color scheme and translating the complex design of the moth into a more simple, graphic element to be used across a variety of designs. All of the other assets culminated in the design of the showcase category title cards which were then animated by the animation team.

Experiential

The experiential team came from a wide array of backgrounds, which helped us to learn from each other and bring new ideas to the table throughout the process. As CoMotion was held in a new place this year, we wanted to go above and beyond in activating each space- using each resource allotted to us to the fullest. Our AR brought to life the title sequence, our projections explored what it really means to light the way, and our interactive piece gave our creative attendees the space to express themselves.

Web

The website served two key functions. We wanted to communicate the brand design of CoMotion 2025 while also creating a primary source for both students and companies to reference for information. In creating the website we were sure to also incorporate micro-animations to make the page feel alive and reactive. Ultimately the webpage ended up being a four-way collaboration between the creative directors, MOMELove, the web team, and the graphic design team who all worked incredibly hard to ensure legibility of all text and usability while also ensuring that the website fit alongside all other deliverables.

Documentary

Across the last four months, the branding team worked alongside the creative directors to create both a video and PDF process book documenting all the deliverables the branding team worked so hard to create. In doing so, we wanted to capture the essence of what made this event and the creatives involved so special. An event of this magnitude and importance deserves to be captured and remembered so the compilation of all this information was critical to showcase the amazing talent this team has to share.
